Nelly Don

Did you know KC was the second biggest garment district in the US in the 1920s? Neither did we until we took a tour of the garment district museum downtown. As we learned more about the once-enriched district, we became fascinated with the amazing Nelly Don. Everything we are wanting to bring back to KC fits in with her morals, providing lunch for her workers, free child care, and healthcare for her staff. She was the second biggest female designer during her time who would rather have the spotlight off her while she created her workforce.
